Dyeing

Dyeing

There is a reason I do not have ladylike, well manicured fingernails. In two words - leaky gloves.
I've tried all sorts of solutions.

Marigolds - robust, but can't feel anything through them.
Latex - they go sticky, a weird sort of feeling, but it must be something to do with being in contact with very hot yarn.
Vinyl - probably the best of the bunch, but still not tough enough.

The photo shows the result of spending an hour of so with the dyepots. My arms are a lost cause, I look as though I am covered in bruises and only a dousing with bleach really fixes the problem, but fingernails stay dyed for days, and no amount of scrubbing with a nailbrush shifts the colours.

I've been dyeing the yarn for the pledges and about half of it is done now. If you are one of those who pledged for yarn to go with your book, look out for one of these very soon.
